Volunteer your time, energy, talent and compassion

Opportunities in the pantry

The Food Pantry needs:

  • drivers for our van to pick up donations from local community partners in Tampa and Clearwater.

  • food buyers to pick up supplementary food from local discount grocery stores.

  • strong volunteers to help unload food deliveries Monday at 1:30 pm and Thursday at 10:00 am.

  • volunteers to bag the USDA food delivery each second Thursday of the month. Each bag contains the same items to be distributed to individuals.

For more information, call or contact the food pantry.

Donate Food

Donate food
  • We always need non-perishable food. On average our pantry serves 45 individuals each day which does not include their family members. Typically, each person receives 14 food items and some meat. To meet this need, we spend about $2000 per month to purchase all items that have not been donated. The items we need most are:

  • Soup, any kind

  • Canned fruit

  • Pasta/spaghetti

  • Pasta sauce

  • Canned veggies -- corn, beans (any kind,) peas

  • Peanut butter

  • Jelly

  • Rice, white, 1 pound bag

  • Cereals

  • Also in demand are diapers, toilet paper and toiletries, and dry pet food.

  • Place all donations in a plastic bag.

  • If you are a snowbird returning home and have unused canned and packaged food that is still in date, please consider dropping it at the pantry before you leave.

  • Food donations can be brought to the food pantry during its regular hours:  Wednesday morning 10 to noon, or 5 to 7 pm Thursday night.

  • Food can also be left at the Calvary church main office during its hours 9 am to 1 pm Mon. through Thurs.

  • Thank you for thinking of the food pantry especially during these difficult times.

  • For more information, call or contact the food pantry.
