We need dedicated volunteers to help sort and shelve food, process inventory and assist individuals with their food selection on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm and Thursday evening from 4:30 pm to 7:15 pm.

Volunteer your time, energy, talent and compassion

  • drivers for our van to pick up donations from local community partners in Tampa and Clearwater.

  • food buyers to pick up supplementary food from local discount grocery stores.

  • strong volunteers to help unload food deliveries Monday at 1:30 pm and Thursday at 10:00 am.

  • volunteers to bag the USDA food delivery each second Thursday of the month. Each bag contains the same items to be distributed to individuals.

We always need non-perishable food. On average our pantry serves 30 individuals each day which does not include their family members. Typically, each person receives 14 food items and some meat. To meet this need, we spend about $2000 per month to purchase all items that have not been donated. The items we need most are peanut butter, jelly, canned beans, vegetables, soups, canned fruit, pasta and pasta sauce, assorted cereal, rice, toilet paper and toiletries. Also in demand are diapers and dry pet food.

If you are a snowbird returning home and have unused canned and packaged food that is still in date, please consider dropping it at the pantry before you leave.

All donated items can be left at the food pantry during its normal hours or at the Calvary Church main office front desk.

For more information, call or contact the food pantry.
